Our next wedding pie is shared by Ruth and Vinny, who threw a gorgeous + fun wedding for just $6000. Here’s how they split their budget pie, along with sage advice from Ruth. We featured their wedding a few months ago, and we’re amazed at what they achieved for what most consider such a tight budget!

Photos: $2000 (including e-session)
Venue: $3,500 (included food, venue, and open bar)

From the bride, Ruth: We had 50 people total at our wedding. That included us, our immediate family members, friends, and 2 photographers. My best advice to stay on budget is to set a price ceiling and stick with it. Don’t look at things that you can’t or don’t want to pay for. It’s a slippery slope, and going over budget here and there will eventually add up at the end.

Thank you for showing this! So many weddings featured online seem to be so expensive. But this doesn’t look as it was lacking anything and for a fraction of what so many others cost.

I was so astonished as I read that this wedding only cost 6000$. Full of amazing goodies, wonderful crafts and flowers. Glad that bride and groom decided to spend quite a bit on the photos, those are so worth the while!
HI All, Thank you so much for your feedback. Honestly, spend the money on a planner. I was able to help the create shortcuts, come up with creative DIY elements and create with the couple to keep the costs down. I know that the myth is that planners will increase your budget or some wont work with certain ones, but the reality is that a good planner will always try to help you achieve your dream wedding within your reasonable budget.
