Gown: $850
Officiant: $500
Flowers: $300
Total: $12,000
From the bride, Tiffany: When planning the wedding, we knew that two things would carry the weight of our budget because they were the most important to us: photography and venue. At the end of the day, if you hire the right photographer, you’re able to relive your wedding through the moments they capture for you, sometimes even moments you didn’t even know anyone else saw. It’s amazing and worth every penny. Photography is and should be an investment, especially on your wedding day.
The venue was so important to us because we knew that the majority of our guests would be traveling to New York to attend our wedding. We wanted the trip to offer a beautiful setting, a fun, relaxed atmosphere, and delicious food! Half of our budget went to our venue. The venue included use of the property, a 4 course meal, our wedding cake and 4 hours of open bar.
We tried to DIY as much as we could for everything, creating all the flower arrangements, doing our own hair and makeup, attire, accommodations and travel from NC to NY. We rented a house a few blocks from the venue for our guests to share who were flying into town. So much fun and a good way to save money! Not to mention a great help when you have so many extra sets of hands there to help you with your last minute DIYs and decorating!

Nice! Pretty close to my wedding budget too.
It’s not surprising why the couple chose to splurge on photography. After all, it’s one of the few thing you’ll be left with after the big day.
