You’d Never Know it was Rainy at This Rooftop Wedding in Phuket
They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, but when a windy storm comes ripping through your ceremony venue and blows away your floral arch and chairs, you start to wonder. Luckily The Bridal Planner Thailand and IAMFLOWER knew just what to do and when the storm passed, they were able to reset the ceremony in 15 minutes! Honestly, you’d never know it was a rainy day and this rooftop wedding ceremony in Phuket continued on without a hitch. Darinimages caught all the gorgeous jewel toned beauty and we’re embarrassed by how much we love Jaqueline & Luis’ reception setup!
From the bride: We both knew we wanted a destination wedding on an island with an ocean view. The view from Baba Nest is simply breathtaking, it is no surprise we later discovered it is voted one of the best rooftop lounges in the world. In addition, the venue is a 5 star resort with individual pool suites and fabulous views. The amazing cuisine solidified our decision. Although I was initially wanting a white wedding with greenery, I felt the venue deserved a pop of color. The deep burgundy brought the elegance I was looking for but the peach/ light pink kept it fresh! After finding the bouquet of my dreams on Pinterest, It was easy deciding on what flowers I would want on the isle & reception and most importantly… hanging from the ceiling!

My ring is so perfect and classic! Luis and I never discussed rings or what I liked. He went and picked it out on his own and the help of our friend at Tiffany & Co. Overall we spent 150k on our wedding, including the reception dinner, wedding and private boat excursion the following day.
From the planner, The Bridal Planner Thailand: We worked with the best florist on the island, IAMFLOWER, to source red burgundy roses, fuchsia spray rose, and burgundy red spray roses for the shade that clients wanted. The seating chart was a display of watercolor name cards with gold calligraphy, decorated in large natural wood branches with red burgundy rose, fuchsia orchid, white stock, yellow rose and greenery. The highlight at the dinner reception was the hanging forest from the ceiling where we decorated with extra volume and long greenery, burgundy, raspberry and fusion flowers
We had a the most challenging time at the beginning of the day as a heavy rain storm hit our ceremony site. Although this was predicted, the storm was stronger than we expected, so the flower arch and chairs were literally blown away by the wind. We had a back up site but we were willing to give it a little time to see if the storm would go away before switching the venue. Just as the guests started to arrive at welcome area, the storm magically stopped. The professional florist team rebuilt the entire flower arch in less than 15 minutes. Next thing you know everything was tidy and beautiful ready for the magical wedding ceremony of Luis and Jaqueline. A beautiful day and evening was captured by darinimages. Needless to say, always hire a professional!
