Small Destination Wedding in Phuket

Naka Phuket Wedding

Prepare to be dazzled because this small destination wedding in Phuket with romantic string lights and a hydrangea blue palette designed by The Wedding Bliss Thailand will have you totally starry-eyed. Pam Kriangkum Photography captured Lucy and Aron’s day with grace and elegance in a gallery that reflects the very definition of visual poetry. From the fairytale reception with cane back dining chairs to the garden-forward ceremony arbor from IAMFLOWER overlooking the ocean, this sweet fete is one to bookmark!

Naka Phuket Wedding

Lucy & Aron’s wedding at the Naka Phuket started the year off with a bang, literally. The couple flew in from Hong Kong, with friends and family from around the world joining in for the celebration. They chose to hold an intimate wedding with 80 guests present as it was important to them that they could connect with each attendee in person. Phuket was their destination as they wanted the opportunity to provide their loved ones with a vacation, and with front row ocean views and gorgeous sunsets, it’s hard to argue with their logic.

Lucy and Aron’s colour palette of white and dusty blue was an unexpected and fun pop of colour amongst the tropical background, and Lucy’s favourite flower, hydrangeas, could be seen throughout the floral arrangements done by IAMFLOWER.co.

Lucy’s ethereal dress from Anovia was completed with a cathedral length veil, and with her mother meeting her and her father at the end of the aisle, her mother revealed Lucy from under the veil and with both parents at her side, they walked down the aisle to meet a happy and emotional Aron waiting their arrival.

Gold and wooden hues were added into the mix amongst the dusty blue linens and trailing table arrangements, and the long tables arranged for the al fresco reception allowed guests to mingle over dinner. As a nod to the distance travelled, traditional name cards were swapped out with wood and leather luggage tags for each guest, and the twinkling lights overhead made the evening feel as if guests were transported into a different world as they dined beneath a rainfall of stars.

The bride made the request of having her favourite Thai dessert, mango and sticky rice, as their wedding cake, and PASSION Restaurant & Bakery did not disappoint with a two tiered creation that while looking beautifully minimal on the outside, held the secret surprise on the inside.

While the speeches had everyone laughing throughout the evening, and the first dance was complete with a choreographed lift performed by Aron, the couple’s favourite part of the evening was surprising their guests with a light show as they were all breaking it down on the dance floor. The DJ cut the music and the lights suddenly, which made guests think that there was a power outage, and a loud bang was followed by a shower of sparkles. Lucy & Aron surprised guests with a firework show on the waterfront, and with the music picking back up, guests were dazzled by the grande finale of the night.

Lucy’s advice for those planning their wedding is to make sure to include what you have envisioned first, and that everything will follow. Elements like their color scheme and style – which they noted as rustic, followed by special details like the cake and firework show led the way as they planned their day with The Wedding Bliss, and Lucy also added, “the priority is also to make the bride happy, then the groom and the guests. Happy wife, happy life!”
