When it comes to flowers, if the words wild, foraged and unruly make your heart pitter patter, then you’re in for a treat. This DIY wedding bouquet is all that, putting a fresh spin on the fall + wintry red color palette adding fuchsia, burgundy and dusty rose to the mix. We’re giving you the full breakdown on how to make this exact bouquet using silk flowers from our partner Afloral, and show you can reuse the same flowers from the bouquet as an arrangement at your home!

What you will need:

Heavy Duty Cutting Pliers
Ribbon (I used grosgrain ribbon)
Vessel for centerpiece

Bouquet Recipe:

Amaranthus
Amaranth
Grape Ivy Foliage
Eucalyptus Leaf Spray
Cabbage rose in mauve pink
Mum spray in eggplant purple
Spider mum in boysenberry purple
Ranunculus in fuchsia wine
Peony in burgundy
Cosmos in spray red
Peony in purple fuchsia

Step 1

Prep your faux flowers by trimming the stems a few inches longer than what you think your bouquet should be. I found it was easier to handle the flowers if the stems were a tad shorter.

Step 2

Pick 2-3 statement flowers as the base, and loosely alternate by adding fillers and smaller flowers. Keep a loose grip so you can add flowers in different places as you go along.

Step 3

Add the leaves to the ends of the bouquet. Remember to keep your bouquet multidimensional so it looks good from all angles! I added the dried florals last and sprinkled them in the bouquet such as the Amaranth. The yellow hanging amaranthus was the finishing touch.

Step 4

Tie a ribbon and trim the ends so they are even. The fun part about unruly bouquets is just that – there are no strict guidelines on how the should look, and better yet, using faux flowers mean you can tweak it later if you feel like it!

The bouquet can be used as a centerpiece once the wedding day is over! This vase was the perfect height for my flower arrangement, so I didn’t even have to tweak it!
