Modern Greenville Wedding with Feathery Florals & a Pop of Black

With less than 6 months to plan their wedding, Mary & Andrew dove head first into planning their dream wedding with the help of Beckon Events. We’re convinced that wedding vendors are magicians because they can put together a stunning event, like this Greenville wedding with modern feathery florals in warm tones, even with a short turnaround time. We love the surprise pop of black in this bold and contemporary wedding design and are officially glued to our screens as we peruse through all the #gorg photos from Olivia Griffin Photography.

From the couple: Mary thought she was being very sneaky by planning a surprise birthday party for Andrew at the end of April 2019. She worked hard to make sure everyone in the family could attend, confirmed the venue and even ordered a very special cake. Suddenly, Sunday, April 28th was upon us and Mary was so excited to surprise Andrew with a fun afternoon with family and friends. Andrew somehow convinced Mary he wanted to go eat at a particular restaurant for lunch, which threw a wrench in her plans but she didn’t want to ruin the surprise. On the way to lunch Andrew took a detour at Furman University (which is where Mary went to college). Again, Mary was feeling quite anxious about getting back in time for the party but also didn’t want to spill the beans. After a short walk around the lake with the dogs, before Mary knew it, Andrew was down on one knee! Mary replied with a “yes”! As it turns out, Andrew knew about the surprise party and wanted to surprise Mary with an engagement party instead. He even had her parents fly in from Virginia to be a part of the celebration. It was an amazing day!

Once Andrew and Mary decided to get married in August, the planning began fast and furiously. Mary’s parents were very organized and helpful but did not live in the same state, therefore Mary had to hire coordinator. She could not have done it without the help of Allie, Anna and Kayla at Beckon Events. They helped execute her vision for the day in the most professional way possible. At the end of the day, everyone was ecstatic with the results.

The vision for the day was a modern vibe with warm hues. Beckon Events used their contacts to provide some of the best venders possible. A key factor for Mary and Andrew was to have plenty of good food and drinks for the guests, as well as a fun band to get people dancing. All of that was accomplished.

One of Mary’s favorite things about the day was her dress, a Hayley Paige fitted gown, that she was able to get within 8 weeks. She also wore her great aunts earrings which were beautiful and sentimental.
