From the planner and stylist, Molly Boyd Event Design: The overall aesthetic of this styled shoot is feminine, romantic, playful yet timeless, and mixing old world with current styling. It was inspired by French Provence – incorporating printed napkins, hand died raw silk ribbons, natural linen tablecloths, vintage glassware and cutlery, and of course a macaroon in a tiny cloche used as the place setting. The models wore their flirty frocks effortlessly, which tied the whole design of the evening together.

I hope that this shoot serves as inspiration for the couple who appreciates the finer things in life, loves the little details, and wants to put a modern spin on a traditional wedding. I wanted to create an Old World yet playful and colorful aesthetic, reminiscent of French Provence. The over all look was feminine, flirtatious and current but still making sure to keep it classic and chic with the patterns, textiles and decor.

I knew in my mind that I wanted a venue that could take us back in time. A family friend allowed us to use her beautiful home which checked all the boxes. It was our pink palace for the day and couldn’t have been more perfect.

To play up the feminine vibe, we sourced some seriously darling props and decor. We used rose gold heels from Loeffler Randall, Love Story perfume by Chloe and delicate dyed cheese cloth fabric for added volume and movement. The dresses were all carefully curated with a ladylike style in mind. Each dress had a different personality, just like each woman wearing it. The mixture of colors, prints, fabrics and textures all blended together effortlessly.

For the table top styling, we really wanted to show off the exquisite florals gifted to us from Fifty Flowers and designed by Zoe Wright from Signature Florals. The arrangement was filled with luscious ranunculus, snapdragon, lisianthus, larkspur, garden roses, peonies, tulips, tweedia, delphinium, anemone, and dahlia. For each place setting, we used a pretty pink plate on top of a gilded charger, a floral block print napkin tied with raw silk ribbon, vintage glassware in a pink hue, a custom designed menu, and macaroons as ‘place cards’ inside of a mini cloche.

The bar set up was kept fun and lighthearted. A stunning floral arrangement on top plus flowers placed sporadically throughout the shelves added some sophistication. I chose upscale spirits that each had an alluring twist to them. The signature cocktail sign and the mixture of vintage and vintage inspired glassware kept it playful. The pink moire silk and cane back chairs used in the seating area next to the bar had me completely head over heels.

The invitation suite was wonderfully executed by Caitlin LaFonte of Humble Honey Bee Design. The way she tied the colors together was completely on theme, “classic yet current”. The added details in the envelope liner, vintage stamps, wax seal, and silk ribbon took this suite to the next level.
