Daisy + Justin’s Sonoma Chic Wedding

Daisy + Justin’s Sonoma Chic Wedding

What’s not to love about a classic, late Summer wedding? Today we will be sharing two very distinct weddings, one from the West Coast and one from the East Coast, but both with gorgeous photography! This wedding was sent by the talented San Francisco photographer Jesse Leake.

A little bit from the bride, Daisy:

Our wedding took place on September 5, 2009, exactly 8 years after Justin and I officially became boyfriend/girlfriend in college. We got engaged in wine country a little more than a year beforehand and have had an amazing time exploring all the wineries and restaurants there. We wanted to share this destination with our friends and family, most of who would be traveling from other parts of the country (and other countries!) to celebrate with us. The venue was thus very important to us; as soon as we visited Viansa Winery in Sonoma, CA, we knew we had found the place, and everything fell into place from that point onward.

My favorite parts of the wedding were:

Personalizing our ceremony: We wrote our own vows. Though it was challenging putting into words all of my emotions and narrowing down our 8-year history into my most significant memories, it was incredibly satisfying to say them to Justin on our wedding day, in front of our nearest and dearest. Another fun fact is that Justin & I already share the same last name, so we got to put our own twist on the words we repeated after the officiant during the ring exchange, i.e. “Justin, I give you this ring, as symbol of my love for you. I keep our name give up my name for yours; I give you myself, and all that I am.” Finally, after being presented as husband & wife, we did our standard “victory lap” until we circled back to our wedding party, where the two of us promptly split up and low-fived our entire row of bridesmaids and groomsmen (we each had 10). Good times!

Reception: When I think about the wedding, the first word that comes to mind is FUN. It is such a little word, but it conveys so much! I always have a smile on my face when I talk about our wedding, even now as I am writing this email! We had an absolute blast celebrating with our friends and family! There was so much laughter on our wedding night. At one point, my high school friends surrounded us in a huddle and began doing a cheer that they had concocted during the passing of the entrees, ending it with a chant of “408” that grew louder and louder (I grew up in San Jose, and our telephone area code is 408).

We absolutely adored all of our vendors – they were simply amazing. All were an absolute pleasure to work with, and our wedding day wouldn’t have been the same without them!
