Chicago Loft Wedding with a Blue Wedding Dress and Floral Chuppah

Verdant Warehouse Wedding Floating Lights 011

Ladies and gents, this Chicago loft wedding will leave you shook. Let’s put it that way. There are unique wedding details at every corner of Eliana and Josh’s intention-filled celebration from the venue artwork on the invitations to the custom blue wedding dress to the hand-illustrated ketubah displayed at the ceremony. Chicago Vintage Weddings worked with this couple to develop meaningful details that were unique to them, and one of the big highlights of the day was an overgrown floral chuppah brought to life by Thistle & Plume. If you consider yourself a fan of open beam receptions dripping with floating candles and late summer blooms (dahlias in particular – wink wink!), you will want to sit down and stay a while because this gallery from Ed & Aileen Photography will take your breath away.

Okay, is this father/daughter first look not the most adorable?!

From the Planner, Kate Reavy of Chicago Vintage Weddings: Eliana and Josh took a nontraditional approach to their modern urban wedding. The couple carefully considered every detail for their weekend-long affair, from custom illustrations on their paper goods to carefully edited event design that would bring the outdoors in. The ceremony site was the perfect setting for their overgrown floral chuppah and the long aisle was very impactful, especially with a good friend of the couple singing as the bride walked down the aisle. The wedding party had men and women on both sides, and instead of separate bachelor(ette) parties they hosted a Bachelor-X party together the night before the rehearsal dinner. Eliana was anything but a traditional bride, so she enlisted the help of Mira Couture to design the blue dress of her dreams. For the reception, guests came indoors and were greeted by hanging florals, flowers cascading from the dramatic king’s table, and romantic lighting. It was very important to the couple that the entire weekend be community-focused, so everything was planned around ways to make their friends and family feel included. The bride’s own cousin even performed a DJ set in between band sets. Charitable work was also important to the couple so they made sure to host a volunteer beach clean up too!
