Tamarindo Destination Wedding on the Beach

We’re all about beach weddings today, and this Tamarindo destination wedding captures the soul of getting married in Costa Rica. Shot by White Diamond Photography, this boho fête makes us feel like we were there!

From Barbara of 419 Weddings: Working with Jamie & Warren in the planning of their Costa Rica wedding was a fantastic experience. Jamie had a very clear idea of what she wanted, and she certainly has lovely taste!

They picked one of our favorite venues, Pangas Beach Club in Tamarindo, so we were lucky to be able to start out with a wonderful setting for the wedding. The beachfront location is not only stylish, modern and minimal but it has a wonderful view and an amazing tree that served as the backdrop for the ceremony. The couple provided a vintage feel rug to stand on as they said their vows, surrounded by family and friends.

Jamie wanted to give the event a decidedly boho feel, incorporating floral designs in lighter jewel tones, vintage blue batik table runners, exposed wood tables and gold accents. The finishing touch on the tables were the custom-made agate place cards that the bride brought in, which were displayed on top of custom menus and detailed with a fern leaf. Favor bags with the couple’s cute logo were filled with local coffee and offered to guests as a token of appreciation.

While we were setting up on that day, the electricity suddenly went out at the venue. We started getting some messages on our phone and realized that it was a countrywide blackout (the first ever since I can remember!), and it was unsure when it was coming back on…. We started working out some unexpected backup plans in order to be able to have the event flow as well as possible…. in the meantime, Jamie was getting ready and keeping her cool despite the last minute electrical glitch, even though her hair was not yet done and the hair drier was, of course, not working…. Thankfully, the power came back on just in time for her to finish getting ready and for the wedding to be a memorable and fun celebration (however, with the awesome crowd that joined Jamie and Warren on their wedding day, it would have been as fun and memorable even if there had been no electricity!). Jamie was a great example of how when you are relaxed and stress-free, things always have a way of working out!
